about

I decided to record all the parts to Haydn's famous "Joke" quartet, experimenting with more sophisticated methods of synchronization and expression.

The "joke" happens at the very end of the last movement in a moment of rhetorical intensity that many musicologists have noted. But the entire quartet has a lighthearted spirit that seems optimistic and joyful. I hope you enjoy listening!
